Brake shudder diagnosis and disc resurfacing

OCDS offers mobile on-car disc skimming across Akasia for suitable vehicles and locations. Machining the disc on the hub helps correct lateral run-out that can cause steering-wheel vibration or brake-pedal pulsation.

For an Akasia booking, provide the vehicle make and model, the suburb and a short description of when the vibration occurs. This helps us arrive prepared and identify cases that may require a workshop inspection instead of mobile resurfacing.

How the service works

Inspect and measure

We assess the symptoms, disc surfaces, pads and available disc thickness. Unsafe or unsuitable discs are not machined.

Resurface on the vehicle

Suitable discs are machined in their fitted position to correct the working relationship between disc and hub.

Verify the result

The braking system is checked after machining and the technician explains any bedding-in or follow-up requirements.

Mobile or workshop service?

Mobile service is convenient when the vehicle is parked on a firm, level surface with sufficient working space. The Wonderboom South workshop is the better choice when a broader diagnosis, additional mechanical work or controlled workshop conditions are needed.
